Werner Lampert receives Marketing Leader of the Year for his life's work.

The Marketing Leader of the Year Awards were presented for the sixth time in Vienna on September 9, 2025. In front of around 200 invited guests, the specialist platform INTERNET WORLD Austria and the Marketing Club Austria honored the country's best marketers. In the Lifetime Achievement category, the special award went to organic pioneer Werner Lampert - the creator of brands such as Ja! Natürlich, Zurück zum Ursprung and retour aux sources. Werner Lampert was honored in a laudatory speech by journalism icon and publisher Armin Thurnher.

Thurnher described Lampert as a "brand designer" who had achieved the seemingly impossible: Bringing organic products to supermarket shelves and convincing consumers of their quality.

You did it, Werner Lampert, you bet on it with Schalle, the boss of the cheap stores. Much more was gained: people lived healthier lives, and light saw agriculture versus industrial production.

Thurnher also emphasized the cultural dimension of his work

The greatest art is to change the way people think and feel. And that requires at least one idea... Getting people to pay more for something worthwhile is your achievement. Your work is economic, but above all it is an act of culture.

Last but not least, he paid tribute to Lampert's love of farming and animals

Cows in general! The beauty of the cow - but the man erects a monument to her. Divine cattle, you called them, and dedicated a book to the cow, the beautiful, Hera-eyed one.

Thurnher thus spanned the arc from the early visions of the organic pioneer to a life's work that has changed the food industry for good.

We have it in our hands

Brigitte Hanzmann, Managing Director and marketing expert, has been working with Werner Lampert for many decades. She accepted the award on behalf of the entire team. For her, the award underlines how essential the work of the LAMPERT company is.

I was able to experience his foresight and visionary power back in the 1990s. Even then, Werner Lampert explained to me how important it would be to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. There is now a scientific consensus (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) that 37 percent of global CO2 emissions are caused by agriculture and food production.
Organic and sustainability are a central part of what we do. But today, our goal is to develop agriculture towards climate neutrality.
In politics and society, sustainability and climate change are out, or are irritating topics. But rocky roads have never deterred us. On the contrary, they encourage us in our efforts to achieve sustainable, climate-friendly agriculture.
We are not desk-bound - that's not how we achieve anything in terms of sustainability. We work together with our farmers with great transparency and develop practical measures with them. In this way, we can trigger a new dynamic towards future-oriented agriculture. And consumers can play an active role in shaping this change.
Our aim is to reignite society's enthusiasm for climate protection and sustainability in order to secure a future worth living for ourselves and our children. Now we still have it in our hands!

At LAMPERT, we continue to develop brand and communication concepts that have a lasting effect and shape the future: LAMPERT brand and communication concepts
