Who are we?
We are a team of experts in agriculture, nutrition, ecology, marketing, technology and more. The company was founded in 1998 by organic and sustainability pioneer Werner Lampert, who with brands such as "Ja Natürlich!" (REWE) and "Zurück zum Ursprung" (HOFER) made Austria the leader in organic farming. However, organic only makes sense if it is combined with sustainability and transparency. This is the goal pursued by the LAMPERT team led by Brigitte Hanzmann and Tobias Metzler.
Our expertise
Our expertise ranges from the development and production to the marketing of sustainable and traceable agricultural products. We create project-specific standards, such as the Prüf Nach! and FAIRIFY standards. The specially developed LAMPERT origin and quality assurance database guarantees unprecedented product transparency along the value chain.
The LAMPERT company is the developer of Europe's major organic brands "Ja! Natürlich" (REWE), "Zurück zum Ursprung" in Austria (HOFER) and "retour aux sources" in Switzerland (ALDI Suisse).

Why we do what we do,
Something has to change. Globally, agriculture is the biggest destroyer of biodiversity, soil and water and is fueling the climate crisis. Food production is responsible for up to 37 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. It is therefore essential to comprehensively change the way we produce food.
By implementing innovation projects, we make agriculture fit for the future and sustainable. We can scientifically prove the effectiveness of our methods.
History &
Development

In the early 1980s, in the midst of a time of overwhelming consumption and rapid development in the food industry, Werner Lampert decided to take a different path. It was more than just a business idea - it was a calling that drove him to fundamentally change the way we produce and consume food. At that time, the proportion of organic products in the food trade was still marginal. Werner Lampert persistently pursued the realization of his vision. He developed two of the most successful organic brands in Europe, not just to serve the market, but to shape and mold it.
But Lampert's pioneering work was never just focused on past successes. On the contrary, it has always been a springboard for future innovation and sustainable change. With a team of like-minded people whose commitment and intrinsic motivation burns as strongly as his own, Lampert continues to strive for new horizons. This is demonstrated by standards of traceability and transparency. Today, at a time when the challenges facing our planet and our society are greater than ever, Lampert and his team are tackling the issues of CO2 reduction, climate change adaptation and biodiversity. What unites them is not just a common goal, but a common will - the will to make a difference, to change and to shape a world in which sustainability is not just a trend, but a matter of course. Because for Werner Lampert and his team, their work is far from over.
