The origin of the organic discount brand
After Austria joined the EU, hay milk was doomed. Werner Lampert, a great cow lover, knew that this had to be prevented. In 2006, the first hay milk was sold as drinking milk at HOFER Austria! The "Zurück zum Ursprung" brand, which combines sustainability with regionality and transparency, was born.
It quickly developed into one of the most successful organic brands in Europe and now offers around 400 products in the food groups for everyday needs.

Organic in a discount store? Does that go together? People still ask me that today. I see it as my mission to make high-quality organic food accessible to everyone. Organic food should not be a privilege. That's why discounting was a logical step. We save on logistics, but not on quality.
